About LIC

At Lusail International Circuit, we are committed to being a global leader in sustainable motorsport venues by integrating environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability into all our operations.

LIC continues to host several key sustainability initiatives designed to minimize environmental impact and inspire responsible practices across the motorsport community, further enhancing its longstanding commitment to supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 and international best practices. Our sustainability initiatives span smart waste management, renewable energy, reduction of environmental impact, greener mobility options, local community, wellbeing and nature, and accessibility.

Smart Waste Management:

We aim to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill by implementing effective on-site segregation of waste streams to maximize recycling, reuse, and recovery. This strategy supports LIC’s event sustainability goals and ensures compliance with local waste management regulations.

  • Multi-Stream Waste Bins

Clearly labeled bins across the site help visitors separate recyclables, organics, and general waste.

  • Recycling Stations & Segregation Yard

Our recycling stations are built from repurposed materials and designed to maximize resource recovery. Waste is sorted on-site to ensure efficient recycling and composting.

  • Biobins & Organic Composting

Food and biodegradable waste are collected separately and sent for composting, reducing landfill impact.

 Renewable Energy:

  • 1.23 MW rooftop solar array installed (on-grid), generating approximately 2.28 million kWh of clean energy annually.
  • All wayfinding signage towers and totems are powered by solar technology with rechargeable lighting systems.
  • Parking and perimeter lights are powered by solar energy and rechargeable batteries.

Recycled Bottle Usage

We prioritize the use of bottles made from recycled PET (rPET), which significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to virgin plastic.

  • Eliminating Avoidable Single-Use Plastics

A facility-wide policy restricts the use of unnecessary single-use plastics, encouraging more sustainable alternatives throughout the venue.

  • Digital Ticketing

Tickets are issued digitally, reducing paper use.

  • Single Use Plastic Policy

LIC enforces strict avoidance of all unnecessary single use plastics across its operations.

  •  Recycled Paper Use

LIC will use 100% recycled paper for all printing requirements during the event.

  •  Free Drinking Water

Refill stations and sustainably packaged water are available throughout the venue to encourage reuse and reduce plastic waste.
