Karting Momentum and Media Engagement: July at Lusail International Circuit
Lusail International Circuit (LIC) continued to offer high-octane community experiences throughout July, with an active calendar that blended public karting sessions, fitness-focused events, and a dedicated evening for the local media. As Qatar’s summer unfolded, LIC reinforced its commitment to accessibility, engagement, and year-round use of its world-class facilities.
Public Karting remained a central attraction, with 18 sessions held across the month. Hosted from Wednesday to Saturday on LIC’s 1.124 km karting track, these events offered participants of all skill levels the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing in a safe, professionally managed environment. The sessions continue to serve as a popular gateway into motorsport for families, youth, and first-timers alike.
July also featured three Mixed Training Days on July 9, 16, and 23, welcoming cyclists and runners back onto the 5.38 km iconic circuit. These community events allow individuals and fitness groups to train on the same surface used in Formula 1® and MotoGP™, fostering wellness and an active lifestyle in a setting designed for performance and safety.
A key highlight of the month was Media Karting Day, held on the evening of July 23. Designed as an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience for Qatar’s media professionals, the session offered participants the chance to suit up, hit the track, and engage with karting from a driver’s perspective. Many attendees, including those with no prior driving experience, took part—highlighting the event’s inclusive spirit and the circuit’s ability to deliver high-quality motorsport experiences regardless of background or skill level.
The event received positive feedback for its smooth operations, safety protocols, and atmosphere, with several first-time participants noting the confidence-building and surprisingly physical nature of karting. Media Karting Day demonstrated LIC’s growing focus on experiential activations that foster stronger connections between the circuit and its wider audience.
While no competitive championships were held in July, the month proved that LIC’s impact goes well beyond the racing calendar. Through community sessions, media engagement, and consistent public access, Lusail International Circuit continues to position itself as both a motorsport hub and a platform for inclusive, year-round experiences aligned with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
