The Qatar 1812 KM will return for a third time as the season opener of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Lusail International Circuit (LIC) from March 26 to 28, 2026.

The sub-10-hour race is divided into two categories: the premier Hypercar category and the production-based LMGT3 class, and each car is shared by teams of up to three drivers.

Last year, the 2025 edition delivered a thrilling start to the WEC season, with AF Corse’s #50 Ferrari 499P driven by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina taking victory in the Hypercar category, followed by the #83 and #51 Ferraris to complete a historic 1-2-3 finish for Ferrari. In the LMGT3 category, TF Sport’s #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R driven by Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar, and Ben Keating claimed victory, followed by the #59 McLaren 720S and the #21 Ferrari 296 on the podium. 

Looking ahead to 2026, the season will begin with the official Prologue at Lusail International Circuit from March 22 to 23, taking place ahead of the opening round of the Qatar 1812 KM. The Prologue will allow teams to prepare and fine-tune their Hypercars and LMGT3 cars before official competition begins. The main race weekend will see Free Practice sessions on March 26 Thursday, followed by Qualifying on Friday and the 1812 KM endurance race on Saturday.

In evidence of its success, more major automotive manufacturers compete in WEC than in any other motorsport series – from Ferrari and Ford to McLaren and Mercedes – with Genesis additionally set to join the headlining Hypercar grid in the 2026 season with its new GMR-001.

The Qatar 1812 KM awards 38 championship points to the winners in each class, making it a pivotal event in the race for the world titles. With balance-of-performance regulations, hybrid technology, and sustainable fuels, the series continues to showcase innovation and equality among competing brands.

Ticketing and Spectator Information
Fans can enjoy simplified access with a single 3-day ticket (Thursday–Saturday) granting entry to all sessions.
