QATAR 1812 KM - FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP 2026

The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been held in Qatar since 2024. The country joined the championship calendar with the Qatar 1812 km race at the Lusail International Circuit, marking an important step for endurance racing in the Middle East. The sub-10-hour race is named in honour of Qatar's National Day and is divided into two categories: the premier Hypercar category and the production-based LMGT3 class, and each car is shared by teams of up to three drivers. Last year, the 2025 edition delivered a thrilling start to the WEC season, with AF Corse’s #50 Ferrari 499P driven by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina taking victory in the Hypercar category, followed by the #83 and #51 Ferraris to complete a historic 1-2-3 finish for Ferrari. In the LMGT3 category, TF Sport’s #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R driven by Daniel Juncadella, Jonny Edgar, and Ben Keating claimed victory, followed by the #59 McLaren 720S and the #21 Ferrari 296 on the podium. What truly sets the FIA WEC apart is the diversity it offers, allowing fans to witness 14 major manufacturers battling on the same track at the same time. This incredible lineup of global brands, from established giants to exciting newcomers, creates unmatched competition in both the elite Hypercar class (LMH/LMDh prototypes) and the production based LMGT3 category, with 35 full season entries including 17 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3 cars The 14 manufacturers include eight in the Hypercar category with the likes of Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW M Motorsport, Cadillac, Ferrari, Genesis, Peugeot and Toyota Racing. As for the LMGT3 category, it includes Aston Martin, BMW M Motorsport, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren Automotive, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche.
